TRAINING - Working with Youth (12 - 25 years) of Refugee Background
Target Group - middle/high school teachers, adult education teachers, police (juvenile diversion unit), youth workers, school counsellors, family therapists or anyone working with youth of refugee background
Description - Young people are affected by multiple layers of trauma from violence and resettlement to family and community destabilisation. This workshop will address the numerous issues surrounding the impact of refugee trauma on learning, behaviour and identity. Explore effective strategies for working with youth of refugee background with focus on building attachment and recognising resilience that can aid in the recovery process.
Prerequisite - Prerequisite is recommended - An Introduction to Working with People of Refugee Background. If you feel you have circumstances which make you exempt from the introductory prerequisite, please don't hesitate to contact us.
