
Open Information Night - November 26 2008

Open Information Nights are held at Melaleuca from 5:30pm on the last Wednesday of each month and are a new initiative of the community development team. The aim is to raise community awareness about refugee-related issues and provide an opportunity where information and experiences in relation to such issues can be shared and discussed.

The end of the dry season in the Top End signals harvest time for the juicy, delicious and luscious mangoes. Once again, our newly arrived family will not go short of this exotic delicacy, thanks to our friends Kim and her family from Humpty Doo.

This unique and very special performance at the Darwin Festival Sound Shell on August 28 is a collaboration between three indigenous singer/songwriters - Shellie Morris, Leah Flanagan, Lou Bennett - and women from Darwin's Liberian refugee community. Surely a moving performance not to be missed!
